University of South Carolina student takes the wheel to stop bus after driver is thrown from window in crash that injured 11

At least 11 people, including 10 university students and a bus driver, were injured in a charter bus crash in Mississippi. The bus was carrying 56 students when it crashed on Interstate 10 in Hancock County. The driver lost control of the bus after one of its tires blew out. Despite the driver’s efforts, the bus became uncontrollable and traveled for half a mile before a student managed to regain control and bring it to a stop. The crash is currently under investigation. The University of South Carolina is working with local authorities to support the students involved.
